Preventative health is a serious business!

With a business background in Physical Therapy and Fitness over the past several decades, I have observed that reactive medicine is not moving the health dial forward with our country. I have seen that preventative health programming is restoring health and function with individuals and communities.

I am passionate about helping my peers engage proactive programming that optimizes the health of their customers. And guess what?? Preventative health is a serious business that can drive a profit without being dependent on health insurance reimbursement!

We Make Healthy Habits Fun & Achieving Goals Simple!

Our Health Challenges makes getting healthier fun, simple to do and it brings healthy minded people together in a safe, online social environment to enable them to learn the steps to improve their health while receiving encouragement from others as they make progress in a fun online game.

  • Mark’s consulting services have supported me with developing a successful mobile practice that services the occupational health and wellness needs of employer groups across the state of Iowa.
  • My practice is thriving as we have worked with Mark to move into the Third Era of Health. Our staff, our patients and our community are restoring our lives through our focus of integrating wellness.
  • Rusty Wallman, MPT, ATC - Owner of OSR Physical Therapy
Mark has been a great trainer and resource for our staff as we recently integrated a comprehensive occupational health program. His insight has assisted us with confidently transitioning into a whole new dimension with our practice.

Interview with Mike Eisenhart (a doer of extraordinary things)

On Tue. 5/22/18 I interviewed Mike Eisenhart, PT during our weekly 30 minute virtual lifestyle medicine mastermind meeting. Watch this preview video below and click here to receive the recording link and the login details to future sessions!

(* Current ProactivePTcoach Mastermind members see our private Facebook group for recording)

Mike’s two decades of experience in integrating lifestyle medicine into his daily practice and all he’s doing to improve patient outcomes is quite inspiring. We shared what Mike’s doing to create population health, emerging trends and opportunities with lifestyle medicine that don’t require a lot of time, staffing or overhead expense to implement but that create a huge ripple effect in a practice and the health professional lives who are involved with it.

Mike Eisenhart is a husband and father of three, a son, a brother to 5 and an uncle to many. Mike is also a physical therapist, a health consultant, Pro-Activity’s managing partner and a self-proclaimed mad scientist on the move; a passionate subject matter expert in the realms of injury and disease prevention, as well as human performance and achievement. Mike can usually be found pushing himself (and the status quo) either on behalf of his clients or in an effort to live his personal mission of being a “doer of extraordinary things”.

Mike Eisenhart, PTMike Eisenhart is a leader in the physical therapy profession having held posts at the local, state and national levels for the American Physical Therapy association, the nation’s largest professional association for physical therapists including the role of President of the association’s NJ chapter from 2015 to 2017.

In addition, as one of the profession’s top innovators, formally recognized in 2013 for work done on Pro-Activity’s Prevention Model, which he pioneered initially in 1999, Mike has written extensively ranging from blogs and trade journals to more formal peer-reviewed publications. His most recent formal work was the chapter “Work Injury Prevention and Management: The Role of the Physical Therapist in Injury Reduction/Prevention and Workforce Wellness” in 2014, on behalf of the national Orthopedic Section of the APTA.

Professionally, Mike is perhaps most widely known as a passionate speaker/presenter and coach, having lectured on health and prevention to thousands of clients, employers, professionals and students, in audiences both small and large over the years…..and when he’s not chasing his kids or logging the swim-bike-run miles, he can be found….sleeping of course.

Interview with my mentor (Drew Bossen, PT)

On Tue. 5/29/18 at 1:30 pm CT I’m going to be interviewing Drew Bossen, PT during our weekly 30 minute virtual lifestyle medicine mastermind meeting. Watch this short preview video below and click here to receive login details!

Drew has been my mentor for over 20 years and he’s created some proactive business strategies to become less dependent on 3rd party payers by pursuing a “Blue Ocean Strategy” where there wasn’t a lot of competition. Find out how Drew broke the dependency on 3rd party reimbursement and created a cash based solution to improve outcomes while finding more freedom, flexibility and growth in his PT business.

Drew received his undergraduate and Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Iowa. He also received a Master’s in Business Administration from Ashland College. He has a strong clinical background rooted in the assessment and evaluation of the injured worker. Over the past 25 years he has worked with numerous organizations (large and small) across the country providing organizational solutions in ergonomics, pro-active safety and wellness. His strengths lie in clinical application and systems thinking.

Drew has been active in business his entire career:
1)     He was the co-founder and CFO of Progressive Rehabilitation Associates of Iowa City, IA for 25 years (sold January 2014)
2)     Executive Vice President of Atlas Ergonomics, Grand Haven, MI
3)     Board of Directors, i-Blades, Milpitas, CA
4)     Board of Directors, PT1, Cedar Rapids, IA

Drew is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, having served in many roles (state and national) over the years. He is also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Human Factors and Ergonomic Society (HFES). He has spoken to audiences across the country on ergonomic system solutions, injury prevention and corporate wellness.

Drew splits time between Iowa City, IA and Minneapolis with Annie, his bride of 37 years. Drew and Ann have two grown children, Katie, a physical therapist in Minneapolis and Doug, a bond underwriter for EMC Insurance in Des Moines. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Drew and Ann became grandparents for the first time this past year… they are thoroughly enjoying this next chapter of their life together!
